The Birth of a Vision

Every great beer begins with a vision and we looked to the Beer Judge Certificate Program (BJCP.org) Style Guidelines and felt 2c International Dark Lager was where we wanted to go.

Our International Dark Lager was conceived with the idea of creating a beer that would appeal to a global palate and usher in the crisp temperatures of the Fall Hunting season.

We wanted to craft a beer that would bring together the best of both worlds – the rich, malty flavors that come with darker specialty grains and the crisp, clean finish of an international lager.

Selecting the Ingredients

The foundation of any great beer is the selection of high-quality ingredients.

For our International Dark Lager, we carefully chose a combination of malts, including Alberta malted Origin Vienna and specialized European Pilsner Malt from Canadian Malting Company to make up the base.

Specialty malts including Melanoidin, and Alberta based Hogarth Chocolate and Rye Chocolate malts, were used to give were used to create its distinctive colour.
